Lush Jester Bubble Bar Review

Lush Jester bubble bar
 Hi Flamingos
I don't usually post so many Lush products in a short period of time but I've wanted to use more and more of lush products lately so sorry if my blog is lost in lush at the moment. I am a person who just enjoys posting about things like this and writing about products when they are fresh in my mind if you know what I mean. I have nearly finished using all the products from my Lush boxing day haul and the  'Jester Bubble Bar' was from my Christmas haul and I have only just got round to trying it out.

Lush have many products and included in my favourite is bath products. I like the bubble bars and the bath bombs equally, they both offer different things such as the bubble bars give silky bubbles and bath bombs usually give amazing displays and have glitter (usually)

lush jester bubble bar review
First Impressions
Honestly I am such a big fan of Lush bubble bars on a stick, they kinda remind me of magic wands especially with the fact you wave them in your bath to create bubbles, it just brings a little bit of the wow factor for me.

Jester is designed exactly like a Jester and is very bright with red, pink and yellow with a little bow with a bell on the wand. I have seen a few bubble bars from Lush and this one is defiantly up their with top bubble bar designs.

Jester is a citrus scented bubble bar which is infused with bergamot, tangerine and Sicilian mandarin oil.

This is another reason why I love bubble bars so much, you can usually use them way more than once. I have used mine once already and by the looks of the bubble bar now it has about another 4-5 baths left which I think is brilliant value for money even though it was £6.50 compared to the products you  can only use the once then its gone.

lush jester bubble bar review
Final Thoughts
Ive said it before and Il say it again, why do my favourite Lush products have to be seasonal? HAHA I've actually lost count on how many times I have said that but I do like this bubble bar a lot. It gives out the most beautiful zesty scent from the mandarin, bergamot and tangerine oil. While the scent is just divine so are the bubbles as they  feel silky and you get so many from a small amount of bubble bar. The red, yellow and pink made the bath into a lovely orange colour.

This has to be one of my top lush products I have tried for a while because its soothing on the skin and you can smell it well after you've had a bath. My skin feels refreshed after a bath and it makes putting moisturiser on so much easier.

Lush Satsuma and knot wrap impressions

Hi Flamingos
I have tried many different Lush products over the years that I am quite surprised that I have never actually tried a gift set, I have only ever bought bath bombs, skincare or haircare products individually. I have always been tempted to get a gift set but picking wasn't easy because they have so many to choose from and they are all decorated beautifully. I only decided to buy this and pip in the boxing day sale because they were half price and I liked the designs of each of them.

Gift sets in Lush come in various sizes and various prices too. Prices start at a reasonable £8.95 all the way up to £145 which includes lots of many different lush products.
First Impressions
I just love the way that this gift set was wrapped, its actually nice to see a different way of wrapping rather than the traditional way of paper and sellotape which can be a little wasteful whereas a wrap can be used over and over again.
Satsuma was nicely put in a satsuma themed wrap and tied to perfection, opening it was simple and wasn't a struggle at all. Inside was satsuma which had a little paper label on it with all the information  and ingredients on for this particular bath bomb.

The Knot Wrap
I have seen lots of different uses for the knot wrap online and is one of the reasons why I wanted to buy this because I wanted to use it again in future for another task. On the Lush website it says it can be used for these things
  • Wrap another gift - This can be used over and over again without the mess of paper and always looks neat ( I am absolutely rubbish at wrapping presents trust me)
  • Use as a scarf - like Marty in Grease, its ages since I wore a scarf like this.
  • Make a drawstring bag - I have no idea how but they are tutorials on this online
  • Headband - This is the main reason I want the knot wraps, I like having retro hairstyles and head bands can help complete the look.
  • Tea towel - This would be a funky looking tea towel, I am actually tempted to get more for this purpose seeing since they are 100% organic cotton.
My Thoughts on Satsuma
I love the way it actually looked like a satsuma even though it was more like an oranges size, it even had the green bit on top and a yellow looking label on the size and  also the dimples to give it that extra orangey effect. The smell of citrus was very strong and you could smell it through the knot wrap even before opening it.

When I put it in the bath it started to dissolve into a lovely array of bright orange and banana yellow, the effect kinda reminded of a warming sunset. The smell was not as strong as me and my partner expected but more of a delicate orange smell. This bath bomb is a mix of citrus juice and Sicilian Mandarin oil.

It wasn't the most moisturising bath product I have tried from Lush and I continued with my skincare regime after my bath.

Even though satsuma was a decent bath bomb it wasn't one of my favourites and I probably wouldn't buy it again, I am just happy that it included a knot wrap and I can reuse it for a few things. I have already wore the knot wrap as a headband and it looks pretty amazing.

What are your favourite Lush products?

20 Things That Make Me Happy

Hi Flamingos
They is nothing more I love more than positive and happy things so I have decided to post more upbeat and positive posts on my blog including this one. I know somedays aren't always going to be positive but I like to fill them with all sorts of positive things anyway. I know this kind of post may sound a little cheesy but you know I feel happy about posting these kinda of post and since its my blog and its all about me this blog I thought it would fit in accordingly.

They are more things I love too and make me happy but I thought a little list would be fun and nice comparison to see what other things people find make them happy.
  1. Being a Mum - I am a mum of 3 kids and they are my everything.
  2. All of my Family -This includes my kids, my partner and my lovely mum
  3. My Cats; Kitty, Bella and Salem. Kitty is like the mummy of them all, she is a tabby cat and she's 8 years old now. Salem is a tom cat who likes to think he's boss but he's just cuddly and very friendly, he's almost 5. Lastly Bella our youngest is a calico and she's just laid back.
  4. Wrestling - I have watched wrestling for as long as I can remember, I like to watch WWE and also independent wrestling companies. My favourite wrestlers are Batista, Eddie Guerrero and Jack Jester.
  5. Going to the gym - If you asked me 2 years ago this wouldn't of been on the list haha but you  know the gym is something I have learned to love over time. I enjoy going most days now.
  6. Baking - I am not going to be the best baker and take part in the British bake off but I do enjoy baking from time to time. My favourite things to make are banana bread, cupcakes and cakes. My kids enjoy helping me and they like putting on sprinkles and mixing the cake mix.
  7. Flamingos (obviously 😜) - I have always stood like a flamingo growing up (no idea why) I love how pink and fabulous flamingos look. I have a few flamingo things like a phone case, cushions and candles.
  8. Jogging - When its nice weather I enjoy jogging with my partner, its great fun and quite competitive at times too haha.
  9. Reading -  I must admit I didn't read much at all till last year that is. Last year I read 3 books and I have a few books to read this year. Reading for me is so relaxing
  10. My Blog - Is it vain to say I love my own blog? oh well if it is I don't mind because I am so happy how far its come in nearly 3 years and also I am happy I've kept it going for 3 years too.
  11. Lush products - I have actually lost count of the amount of Lush products I have tried over the years, I honestly just love most things I have tried in there. Lush bath times always make me happy.
  12. Drawing - I am no professional at this but its great for me, I enjoy the drawing and colouring in.
  13. Makeup  and beauty products - Before becoming a blogger I hardly owned any beauty products at all, I think I had under 10 items altogether. I have actually lost count now.
  14. The Game of Thrones - I started watching this last year, after watching the first episode I was pretty unsure whether or not to watch the next and I am so glad I decided to keep watching.
  15. Music - I love lots of different genres of music. My favourites are from the 70s-80s and I am also a fan of Michael Jackson and Queen.
  16. Shopping - Whether its for makeup, clothes or food I just love shopping, its just great fun. Most of the time I don't buy anything I just window shop.
  17. Long walks -I love seeing wildlife and the countryside, growing up I used to go on long walks with my nana and my auntie, I loved it then and still do now.
  18. Nights out - This can be going out wrestling and or going out for dinner, the combination of the two is my favourite though.
  19. Travelling - I have been to a fair few countries including Mexico, Spain and France, even though they are brilliant places I would love to travel the UK.
  20. Tattoos - I only have four at the moment but I would love loads more in the near future. I want a sleeve of roses on my right arm in the near future.
I know happiness is measured differently with different things but this is a list of things I love and make me happy. I would like to hear what you guys love and makes you happy?

Lush Northern Lights | Review

lush northern lights review
Hi Flamingos
I know its passed Christmas now but I still have lots of unused Lush Christmas themed items to go through yet. The most recent one I used was this one 'Northern Lights Bath Bomb' which my sister kindly got me for Christmas. This is a very colourful with bright purple, blue and yellow with a lovely floral smell too it too, the bath bomb is a quite a bit bigger than the usual bath bombs that are in lush too. I honestly knew what I got from here for Christmas because I could smell it through the wrapping paper haha.

I honestly look forward to the festive range at Lush every year and they have never disappointed me yet. Every boxing day without fail I have made it to the Lush boxing day sale to see what Lush bargains I can find and I usually some lovely products that I have been wanting to try.
lush northern lights bath bomb
lush northern lights bath bomb review
First Impressions
Has anyone ever played the game 'Dr Mario'? If you have this honestly reminds me of the capsules in that game which is quite quirky and fun I think. I love its unusual shape rather than the original lush round shape and I also like the how bright and bold this looks too.

As I said above I could smell this was a lush product before I even opened the present and I could defiantly tell it was a floral scent too. On the label it says it has the floral scents of 'Jasmine and Ylang Ylang'. I had super high expectations for how strong the floral scent it would be in the bath since it's so strong you can smell it through its packaging.

Once I finally got my boiler to work ( don't ask I have been having problems with it over the past week and it ruined a previous lush bath experience 😂) I filled my bath up with warm water and once my bath  was full I put 'Northern Lights' in gently and as soon as I let go of it you could smell the aroma of 'Jasmine and Ylang Ylang' burst and honestly it was just lovely.

Northern Lights rolled around a lot and every turn it realised more of its bright colours, each end had bright colours and the purple combined with them to make an almost northern lights display. It has one of the nicest displays.

Once the whole of the northern light dissolved in the water it went into a dark lavender colour and I think it has sparkles in it too so it looked like the night sky.

Other favourite Lush displays

lush northern lights
Final Thoughts
Northern Lights defiantly did impress me and I am so glad my sister bought me it for Christmas, she knows me very well haha. I loved everything about northern lights apart from the fact if you hold it while its in the water it leaves a little bit of a purple stain on your hands for about 10 minutes but apart from that its fab.

The smell is perfect for anyone who likes floral scents, I really liked the smell of this but to be honest it's not exactly not christmasy smell but to honest I don't mind that.

Now I am super excited to try the Valentines day lush range 💘

Have you bought anything in Lush lately?

Blowdrying Hair with Tangle Teezer

tangle teezer blowdrying hairbrush review
 Hi Flamingos
I am sure quite a lot of us have heard of the original 'Tangle Teezer'. I remember when I went to the hairdressers a couple of years back and my hairdresser brushed my hair and I felt no tugging or anything and thats when she told me all about the original tangle teezer  brush, it was after that I decided to get one for myself and I bought one the next day and I have been using it ever since, its still working well after all that time too which is fab.

This brush is a new brush from 'Tangle Teezer' and its designed to reduce blowdrying time and it also says they are no need for straightening irons. This brush is the full size one and is best suited for people with medium and long hair lengths.

First Impressions
When I first got it, I was very impressed with how well made the brush is. Its packaged very nicely in a transparent through sturdy box with all the information you need about the brush on it.

Its nice big brush which is quite different from other blowdrying brushes as it has a lot of bristles and they are quite hard too. Not only is it a big brush its very lightweight too.

tangle teezer uk
My Thoughts
As with anything new I was a bit dubious about using this for the first time, I know it sounds daft but the shape is a little different from a usual blowdrying brush and I was a bit unsure how to use it at first but with a little looking around on the web I seen how to use it and gave it a whirl.

I used this after having a shower and towel drying my hair beforehand, I put my hair into section and started to brush it with the bristle facing outwards and the hairdryer focusing on my hair. It was pretty easy  to use and I did feel it took a lot less time to use and also a little less aching to my wrist as my hair is very thick and it can take ages to blow-dry my hair.

It took about 10 minutes to blow-dry all of my hair which is just below my shoulder length which I think is quite impressive compared to how I used to do it. It did say no need for hair straighteners after this and I can say it does make a difference and made it easier for me to style my hair as usual after drying my hair.

lindy bop dress
Hi Flamingos
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Year! I sure did, I visited my mum and family who live 100 miles away so it was great to see everyone after not seeing them for a while. We had a couple of parties and my kids enjoyed seeing their grandparents and the rest of the family. I was super happy to see my mum too because she's like my best friend 💜

Anyway its normal routines for us all now, I'm now back home in Glasgow and the kids are back at school/nursery and my blogging routine is back to what it used to be. I am missing the Christmas holidays already. I feel they went far too quickly, don't you think?

I have a few goals for the year ahead but I also have some to do for this month too so you know I think its good to have little set goals for the month and its possible that I will update each post more than once as we all know months can change.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Celebrity Skin | Review

jeffree star cosmetics celebrity skin review
Hi Flamingos
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas break, I know I sure did. I have had a bit more time off my blog than what I would have liked but I'm back in business and expect to see more blog posts from now on. Anyway back onto todays post;  I have always wanted to try makeup from 'Jeffree Star Cosmetics' but it wasn't too easy to find in the UK and I wasn't keen ordering on the Jeffree star cosmetics website because I wasn't sure how much the customs charge would be, so I pretty happy waiting for it come to the UK(eventually). Thankfully they are much easy to find now because they are on one of my favourite makeup sites 'Beauty Bay. My mum bought me this for Christmas and it came within two days which I think is brilliant for free delivery.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics was founded by the one and only 'Jeffree star'. I remember seeing Jeffree on my Myspace 10 years ago and also the music too. This cometic brand is relatively new and has a few different beauty products including; velour liquid lipsticks, highlighters, eyeshadow palettes and more.
jeffree star lipstick box
jeffree star velour liquid lipstick review
 First Impressions
The packaging is very nice and it is packaged in a gorgeous hot pink box with the lipstick shade on top of the box and five jeffree star embossed rose gold stars on the front on the box. I love when things are packaged well especially then they cost so much more than a cheaper lipstick, because I like getting my moneys worth if you know what I mean.

The lipstick tube locks with a click too which is oddly quite satisfying and to be honest the reason is that so many lipsticks I have tried before have a top that easily comes off.

I had no idea what the scent was until I looked it up online and it said it was root beer scented like a few of the other jeffree star lipsticks. I actually like the smell its kinda sweet and is not overpowering at all.

It has a curved applicator which kinda looks cool and it goes quite well into the shape of your lips. Every time it has given me the right amount of product for each and every application with no need going back into to the tube for more product.

The liquid lipstick is true to the name 'liquid' it almost feels like liquid because of how light if feels on the lips. Once its on your lips you wait a few minutes until it dries into a matte finish which looks so frigging cool, I love it.

jeffree star celebrity skin label
jeffree star celebrity skin swatch
My mum took ages to choose a lipstick shade for me as she thinks I suit nude shades the best, she finally  chose 'Celebrity Skin' which is a pink toned brown shade which is a lovely nude shade.

My thoughts
I just love how intense and how opaque the lipstick is, as soon as its applied to the skin you can see how intense the colour is. I looked on Jeffrees Star social media and its suggested to use a lip scrub before applying this so I applied my Lush bubblegum lip scrub before I put this on and it is a good idea to actually do that beforehand since this is a matte lipstick, it helps reduce a matte lipstick being
as dry.

I have worn Celebrity skin a few times and I just love it and I will tell you all the reasons why I love this so much. The first reason it has a lovely effect on the lips, it isn't too drying like quite a lot of matte lipsticks. Another reason is it lasts along time, I've had it last nearly 6 hours before needing another application. Lastly is how opaque and how super lightweight this is with just one coat, it almost feels like you're not wearing anything on your lips at all.

I will be adding more liquid lipsticks to my makeup collection soon as I have sure been converted to them now haha.

Vegan Protein Flapjacks | Recipe

vegan protein flapjacks
Hi Lovelies
With the New Year here a lot of us are looking for healthier option foods, I know I sure am. I have had way to many treats over the holiday period and I am looking to get myself fitter and stronger this year and of course the biggest thing I want is to control my PCOS. Snacks can be my biggest problem area because I always seem to grab the ones like chocolate and cakes rather then the healthier options so I decided to make some healthy flapjacks to curb my bad snacking habits.

I thought this would be a brilliant recipe for people taking part Veganuary at the moment so I've made a vegan version of one of my all time favourite snacks and its flapjacks. With some research online I found  you can make healthier versions of them so I decided to give it a whirl and thankfully I did because it turned out quite well if I don't say so myself.

vegan protein flapjacks recipe
What you need

  • Baking tray
  • Grease proof paper
  • Mixing bowl

  • 200g Whole Oats
  • 100g softened dairy free butter
  • 2 ripe banana
  • small handful of raisins or mixed dried fruit
  • 2 teaspoons of agave nectar
  • 10g of Pulsin Pea Protein
vegan protein flapjacks recipe
  1. Preheat oven to gas mark 4
  2. In large bowl put oats, raisins and pulsin pea powder
  3. Mash ripe bananas in a separate bowl then add the agave nectar and the softened butter until they are combined
  4. Put ingredients from the smaller bowl into the large bowl and mix together with hands until thick and its like cookie dough, if its too dry add a little bit of almond milk.
  5. Put the mixture onto grease proof paper on the oven tray. Flatten the mixture to get it into an oblong shape and then add to the oven.
  6. Let it cook in the over for about 20-30 minutes (mine too 25 minutes)
  7. Once cooked put on the side and once cooled cut into 10-12 squares.

I hope you enjoy this recipe.
What should I make next time?

The Body Shop French Lavender Massage Oil | Review

the body shop french lavender massage oil review
💜 Hi Lovelies 💜
I can't believer its 2017 already and this post is my first post of the year and that marks my blogs 3rd birthday which is in July! I love blogging as much now as I did then. In 2016 I loved using many different beauty products but none stood out to me as much as the body shop products including this massage oil. I am relatively new to massage oils so trying this was a totally new thing for me.

The body shop is a favourite shop of mine over the past year, I have tried so many products this year I have lost count and I have yet to write about them on my blog. I would have wrote about them sooner but it has been a busy past few months but I promise they will be on my blog soon. The french lavender massage oil is one of a few different massage oils available in the body shop, this oil is part of the spa range.
the body shop french lavender massage oil review
First Impressions
I just love the packaging of this massage oil and I really wish I took a picture of the box too because I firmly believe quite a lot of the time we buy with our eyes first and the box for this looks very elegant and quite high end.

The bottle looks very nice too and you could actually imagine it fitting in nicely in a spa environment.      Its quite strong and you can tell its made well and fit for the job. It has a nice cooper label on it with all the information you need on it. It also has a simple and easy to use top so you can get as much or little massage oil as you need.

The french lavender itself is actually from the south of France and the story of lavender being used is in the 14th century by King Charles VI of France, he wanted his pillows filled with lavender to help him sleep.

Now I am no expert with this product by any means but me and my partner have been using this by putting the desired amount on our backs and massaging into the skin until its absorbed. It can also be used with massage tools that are also available on the body shop website but for me personally I like using it the way I do and to be honest it has been working a charm for both of us and we have been using it for a while like that now and we not interested in the way we change using it now seeing as we are both happy.

french lavender massage oil
My Thoughts
The smell on with this Lavender massage oil is just heavenly, it smells 100% like French lavender which is just lovely. Lavender has many benefits including helping to relax and getting a good nights sleep and thats what this massage oil is for; relaxing body and mind. With all those benefits in mind thats why me and my partner bought this because we have a busy schedule and relaxing time is a very special time for us both.

I am not the biggest fan in the world of the lavender scent but in this massage oil it was a nice relaxing smell and it was nice to world with too as it wasn't overly oily and it absorbed in the skin without any problems. While massaging my partners back he gets so relaxed with this he almost falls asleep because the smell is that soothing.

The price is £14 and may sound a little bit on the expensive side but honestly to me its worth every penny because it smells gorgeous and it has helped me and my partner relax and eventually actually get a good nights sleep which is brilliant  because we have busy schedule.
