Barry M Coconut Infusion Flamingo | Review

Flamingos as you can tell by my blog name are something I love and if you came to my house you would understand how much! I have pretty much flamingo everything from cushions, throws to cups; yep flamingos are a big part of my life because I just love them.

It has been many months since I last bought a nail paint because to be honest I didn't wear it as much as I usually do but that all changed when I went shopping. I spotted a Barry M makeup counter and this nail paint stood out to me and can you guess why? Well of course.. its called 'Flamingo'.
barry m coconut infusion flamingo
Flamingo is a beautiful coral pink shade and its also got a lovely glossy effect to it too. The coconut infusion is defiantly something worth mentioning; its enriched with anti-oxidising  properties with strengthening benefits of hexanal and also vitamins A and C which help repair and replenish nails.

I applied two coats of 'Flamingo' to give it this opaque effect but it did look enough at one coat but me being me, I like to be sure. I did not apply a top coat to this because they look beautifully glossy without it but if you want them to last a little extra I would recommend using a glossy top coat.

They are 19 shades to choose from in the coconut infusion range and this is the second one I have bought and each of them I have loved. They are long lasting and are lovely and glossy as well. I am so tempted to get  the rest of them in the range because they all look fab. These cost £5 each and I think they are great value as the above points above.

Barry M is Cruelty Free and this nail paint is also Vegan too. 🐇🌱

Elegant Touch Nails | First Impressions

Hi Lovelies, I hope you are all well?
I am sure some of you all know that I recently went to two wedding parties on the weekend and omg they were amazing! I will go into details about them both on my blog in the next week or 2 but for now I will be telling you all about my nails that I wore for those 2 very special days of Bisma's and Atif's wedding. I don't usually wear fake nails because sometimes they can be a nightmare to take off and some can be so expensive.

I decided I wanted to do my nails myself for the events and I ended up choosing Elegant Touch French kiss nails which are a very on trend nail which and almond shape nail with a nude shade and metallic tip. I thought they would go perfectly with my outfits for the day and work with the henna I was getting too.

Application
  1. Make sure nails are clean and have no polish on them, if you do remove with nail polish remover.
  2. Once you have done the above buff your nails as it makes it much easier to apply the nails. This set includes a nail buffer which is very handy.
  3. Choose correct size for each nail before applying, the box has 24 nails inside so they is a variety of different sizes.
  4. Once you have choose the correct sizes apply glue to nail then push the nail from the cuticle upwards to get an even finish and press down for a few moments.
  5. Repeat process for each nail until you have finished and voila they look perfect.

Tips
I would recommend giving yourself 20 minutes to do this and I wouldn't rush through it either just so you can get them as perfect as possible.

Removal
Removing them was a little upsetting because I didn't want to take them off but with that being said they were very easy to remove unlike conventional nails that you would get at a nail bar, they need to be taken off professional. These can be taken off in the comfort of your own home in very little time.

All you need to do is buff the nail and  remove with cotton wool and foil, one they are removed the residue is easily wiped off with a wipe or simply washing hands.

My Thoughts
I loved these nails, they have an amazing shape and look amazing too. I applied these last Wednesday and it took me about 30 minutes from start to finish to put on these nails. When I first applied them I thought they were a little longer than what I would usually go for but I got used to them in no time at all and believe it or not they actually felt like my real nails rather than something stuck on. I wore these on the night I got my henna at my partners aunties house were lots of family and friends were and I got so many compliments from so many people and they were surprised when I told them all I did them myself and the price of them too.

During the Menhdi party and the reception they felt great too and didn't restrict any of my actives such as eating or drinking. On those days I got more compliments and on that note I have changed my mind completely on wearing fake nails, I am looking forward to trying more out in the future because of how simple to use these were.

I lost one nail during one party and I had no idea were it went but I didn't feel it come off, I just looked at my hand and it wasn't their. I wasn't disappointed because its pretty simple to reapply them again especially when they are so many nails in the packet.

Barry M Crush | Review

Hi Lovelies
It has been such a long time since I last did a blog post about a nail paints, which is a bit not like me because I have so many nail paints in my collection and it would be great to show you them all ( hopefully in the near future when I get the chance). Todays #NOTD is a matte nail paint from Barry M and is a beautiful autumn burgundy shade.

I don't usually wear matte nail paints because somehow quite a lot of them don't work out well for me even if I use the right top coat and base coat. I had my fingers crossed this one would be much better then the ones I tried before.
barry m crush review
Barry M is a cruelty free company that sell lots of different nail paints and makeup alike. They also have a clear labelling system of whats vegan and things that are have this label on them like this one. Crush is vegan friendly.

Crush comes in a 10ml bottle and costs £3.99 on the Barry M website but if you like to save money like me they are usually on offer in Superdrug on a  3 for 2 offer every now and again.

As much as I want to love this nail paint, I can't say it was completely brilliant because it was probably one of my least favourite nail paints I have tried from Barry M. I put on a matte base coat and waited for that to dry then applied a layer of crush on it and it was VERY streaky and quite thick to apply too. It didn't get much better once I applied another coat, it still looked very streaky but another coat didn't look like it would of fixed it so I decided to put a glossy top coat on top of it instead and that helped it a lot and it looked so much better.

I didn't like the matte effect because it looked a little too streaky for me ( might work for others) but it did look better after the glossy coat I applied on top of it. I have worn it for a few days now and it looks pretty good with no chips on them so far.

Models Own Chrome Red | Review

models own chrome review
Hi Lovelies
I just love painting my nails and my all time favourite shade to paint my nails has to be red, for me its very bold and makes me feel so much more confident and its very much like red lipstick for me as it's so bright and reminds me so much of retro glamour. Do any of my fabulous readers/bloggers feel that way about red? Models Own are a brand I have heard about for a few years now and I remember first hearing about them when I first started blogging almost 3 years ago now. Fast forward to now I still use the brand and still buy from the brand now.

I remember first seeing small amounts of Models Own nail polishes in River Island a fair few years back and now the shops are dotted around the country ( they are shaped like giant nail polish bottles) Not only do they sell nail polishes they also sell other products such as makeup, brushes and skincare.

models own chrome red review

Models Own Colour Chrome Collection
This collection is inspired by liquid metal so they all have that effect and in the collection they are 10 shades in this collection in a variety of different colours. They all have a shiny foil finish. Shades in the collection include chrome silver, chrome copper, chrome mauve, chrome cerise, chrome turquoise, chrome grey, chrome gold, chrome indigo and chrome rose.

Application
It has a very easy to use brush and it gave the right amount every time for each nail without the need for re-dipping more than once for each nail. It looks quite nice with one coat but for more opaque look I would 100% recommend 2 coats for more intense look. The drying time is pretty good too and for each nail was under a minute so I would recommend having 15 minutes of time for your nails so you can have time for them to dry and of course the application.

packaging - 5/5 love the vibrant chrome red
application - 5/5 a breeze, saved me time
texture - 4/5 make sure not too much on brush or
it can be quite thick textured,
pigmentation - 5/5 love it, defiantly like chrome red
long lasting? - 4/5 lasted 3 days looking vibrant, before
chipping.
scent - 3/5 like a standard nail product
price - 5/5 very fair price at £4.99

My thoughts
I actually liked this quite a lot and it sure stands out when you wear it. I have wore this a few times since I purchased this a few months ago and I still love it. It has a decent lasting time before chipping but I am sure they must be a top coat out there that will help this nail polish show its full long lasting potential. I am very tempted to get more of these especially chrome mauve and turquoise.

Have you got any favourites from Models Own?

Models Own Dip Twist Go Pot | Review

models own dip twist go review
 Hi Lovelies
It has been AGES since I actually last bought a nail polish and I am not sure why but something I have bought to do with nails is this Models Own Dip & Twist Pot which I found in my local Superdrug store in Silverburn, Glasgow for £4.99. I was actually looking for a new nail polish to try but I actually remembered I needed a nail polish remover first and thats why I decided to give this a try seeing I have never tried this before and I like  to try different varieties of new products.

One of the things that sold it to me firstly was the fact it says on the packaging that it  removes glitter and if you like wearing glitter nail polish you will know how flipping awful it can be to remove sometimes, so getting this was something I hoping would make taking off glitter nail polish a breeze.

models own dip twist go
First Impressions
I love the bright pink it's so vibrant! It  has been a while since I tried a nail polish remover like this but I was very excited to give this a try because its from a very reputable brand Models Own.

Benefits of Dip & Twist
This is easy to use since all you need is contained in the tub and its also lightly fragranced with a strawberry scent and vitamin E. It also acetone-free and is enriched with argan oil to help nourish and most importantly cuticles too.

models own dip twist go
How does it work?
I simply used it by putting my fingers inside the tub and twisting the tub around for a second and that worked wonders at removing matte and glossy nail polishes.

Will it remove glitter?
It worked but took a bit longer than the glossy/matte nail polishes to come off, but the main thing it does come off with a little more effort.

Any cons?
You can only use it on you finger nails, I know it may sound super obvious but I just realised that when I got  home and I needed more nail polish remover to take off the nail polish on my toes haha, what am I like???

Would I buy it again?
Maybe. I do like how quick it takes off nail polish and also the fact its travel friendly, I could easily take this with me when I go visiting my mum. Another great thing is about it is that it doesn't have such a strong smell like other nail varnish removers.

Illamasqua Venous Nail Varnish | Review

Illamasqua venous review
You know something everyone, it has been absolute ages since I last did a whats on my nails post.
It is not like I haven't been wearing anything on my nails or something like that its just that I reused the ones I had or it has totally slipped my mind to do a blog post about them. I think I have about roughly 60 nail varnishes at the moment and I do have a few favourite brands but Illamasqua are one of favourites because the quality of the products and also the shades available.

Illamasqua is beauty brand that I start using back in 2014 when I first started blogging, they have many different makeup products including makeup, perfume and also makeup brushes and lots of other things too.

The nail varnishes from Illamasqua cost about £14.50 but I managed to find this one in TK Maxx for the bargain price of £3.99. They are available on the website and also at Illamasqua counters around the UK.

illamasqua venous | review
Illamasqua Venous Nail varnish
Illamasqua Venous is a bold opaque blue/green shade and you get a decent amount of product which is 15ml.The formula is award winning at being chip resistant and hardwearing. They advise two coats for a more bold and intense look. Another thing about Illamasqua nail varnishes is they are vegan friendly and like the brand they are cruelty free too.

My Thoughts
Before applying this I like to make sure my nails are 100% clean which no previous nail varnish on as it gives the nail varnish a much smoother; after that I like to put on a hand cream. The brush on this is a good size so its quite easy to put the nail varnish on without making a mess around the nails. I found that one coat of Venous is enough for an opaque look, it also had a nice shine to it too. It does recommend using a topcoat but I don't use one because I find Illamasuqa nail varnishes last just as well without them.

I have no cons to say about Venous, it is the perfect blue/green shade and also very long lasting. I totally recommend try Illamasqua nail varnishes.

Available online and also at illamasuqa counters

Kiss Gel Fantasy Nails Review

Hi Lovelies
I am on the wall when it comes to false nails, at one stage in my life I used to wear false nails all the time but once I had my daughters I stopped wearing them altogether for a few years. In August it was my 26th birthday and my partner was planning to take me out for dinner so I wanted to dress up as much as possible and make myself feel good and thats when the thought of wearing false nails again came in. I used to get them done in a nail salon but I didn't have much time to get them done so decided to get some false ones instead and picked these up during a little shopping trip to superdrug.

Kiss nails are available in boots and superdrug online and in-store and are quite reasonably priced. They have lots of different types of designs to choose from. They have the motto 'bring the salon home'

kiss gel fantasy nails
Includes
24 Nails
24 Adhesive tabs
Pink Gel Glue
Mini file and Manicure stick

First Impressions
The first thing that made me want to buy these was the sparkles, I am a big fan of anything with sparkles. The sparkles looked very nice  with the combination of peach pink shade on the nails. They look very good quality for the price.

The packaging is nice, also very easy to read, it also shows the product inside with a bigger picture on the actual nail design which I think looks great and in my opinion drew me more to the product.

My Thoughts
Applying these was simple enough it was getting them to stay on that was the problem, some fell off within an hour or two of putting them on with the self adhesive so I decided to apply them with the nail glue instead and that actually did the trick to make all the nails stay on. The nails themselves were a lot longer then I thought they would be and on the packet it said medium length so I was expecting a bit less length. I struggled a lot using my phone because of the length.

The nails stayed on for the whole of my birthday evening up until the next day, when the 2 of them started to come off. Enough was enough for me so I decided to take them all off because they just didn't stay on for me unfortunately. They were easy enough to take off thankfully and did no damage to my original nail which I am very happy about.

I wouldn't say I dislike these nails or anything like that its just that I personally didn't get along with them unfortunately. It hasn't put me off buying false nails again from this brand and I am actually looking forward to trying more false nails for occasions in the future.

Barry M Blueberry

Hi Lovelies
I have so many nail paints but I have hardly showed you most of them unfortunately, hopefully I will get to share more of them on my blog eventually. The biggest reasons I don't always blog about them are if I haven't worn them yet or I forget to take pictures for my blog and once I do remember they look too chipped to show on my blog haha!.

Anyways on todays post which is about Barry M's nail paint which is called 'Blueberry' which is part the gelly collection, the gelly collection has to be one of my favourite collections because its so shiny and long lasting.

barry m blueberry
Some quick facts about Barry M
  • Its a cruelty free Brand - All the cosmetics from Barry M is cruelty free.
  • Lots of Vegan options - quite a lot of the cosmetics from Barry M are vegan, including all of the nail paints, 'happy dance'
  • Most of the products are under £10 - This is one of the biggest reasons I love to shop with them.
  • Amazing quality - The quality of a lot of the products is fab
Barry M Blueberry is an affordable £3.99! but your like me, I wait for when they are on offer like 3-2 or 2 for £6 haha.

barry m blueberry review
My Thoughts
I really like the bottles of the Barry m nail paints because its very easy to see what your buying and of course its labelled easy to see which of the nail paints it actually is

As with all the Barry M applicator brushes I just love this one! it makes it so much easier to apply the nail paint to the nail in 3 easy strokes of the brush. The nail colour looked quite opaque with the one application but I am so used to applying 2 that I applied another to make sure it was 100% opaque. As much as I love this nail paint the one slight hiccup I have with this is that the formula is very thick and can be quite a challenge to use.

I have worn this one for 4 days now and its only started to chip, so its decent lasting nail paint and the fact I didn't actually add a top coat to it ( I know I should haha).

Barry M Bikini Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Every so often Barry M likes to bring out a different type of nail paint and this one joins the ranks of the glitter, matte and Gelly but this one has a different as its infused with coconut water and coconut oil which helps to nourish the nail and give the nails a glossy finish.
barry m bikini

I treated myself to this the other day as part of 3 for 2 deal for Barry M deal at super drug and the reason I did as I just loved the shape of green this is, kinda reminds me of a tropical holiday. This one is called bikini and they is 9 more in the range which are all pastel and in a glossy finish.

Application

As all barry m nail paint brushes, this was a breeze to apply as the brush is curved and makes it easier to get a cleaner finish. It took two coats to get this opaque finish. I have worn this for two days now and it has no signs of chipping.

Price

These are very reasonably priced at £4.99 each

Where to buy

Can be bought from the barry m website or in store or online at superdrug.

Barry M Sugar Plum

Barry M Sugar Plum
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine -  Sugar Plum £3.99
Cruelty Free
Vegan//Vegetarian
I am a big fan of pink and purple nail polishes so I couldn't resist treating myself to this nail paint from my latest Superdrug trip in Silverburn shopping centre which is in Glasgow. I seem to always be treating myself to nail paints, since starting blogging two years ago, about two years ago.. I think I had about five nail paints now I have near seventy... wooops.
Barry M Sugar Plum
This nail polish is from Barry M and its called 'Sugar Plum' and its a new shade from the gelly hi shine range. I love how well the name of the polish matches the colour of this very well and almost reminds me of strawberry bonbons, I love how all of Barry m nail paints have quirky and fun names, I think its a reason I come back to them.
The formula of this is very thick so it can be a bit tricky to get the right amount onto a brush at first but once you master it, its as easy as pie to get an easy application to the name and a top tip from me would be not to put to much on the brush and a little bit goes a long way with this. I applied two coats of this to get a opaque finish and I waited about five minutes till my nails were completely dry and once its dry it amazed me at how glossy it looked! the shine is beautiful and does exactly what it says on the bottle which is wonderful.
Have you tried any of the Barry M Nail paints? what are your thoughts?

Illamasqua Stagnate Nail Varnish Review

Illamasqua Stagnate
Hi Lovelies
I love blogging but at the moment I haven't blogged as much as I would like to as I have been sorting things out for Christmas with my family, so that has took so much of my time up as well as my usual mummy duties. I hopefully soon I would be able to find more time to post more as I just love it. Anyways lets get onto my nail polish that I am wearing this week which is illamasqua stagnate which is something that I have had in my makeup drawer for a while but just got round to using.

Stagnate Is a nail varnish I bought ages ago that I can't exactly remember when! I love the names of illamasqua nail varnishes and this name is just great as it matches its shade very well which is a grey mauve shade. I personally don't wearing wear dull nail varnishes as I like a bright nail varnish look but I decided for a nice subtle change this week.

Illamasqua Stagnate Review

Stagnate is a grey mauve shade in a glossy finish and this cost me £14.50 for a 15ml nail varnish. I know that the price is a little bit steep for a nail varnish but I fancied treating myself at the time and I really wanted to see what Illamasqua nail varnishes where like as I had never tried them ever before so I thought why not!

I really love the design of this bottle, I know it may looks super simple but for me simpler looking beauty items looks so much nice (unless its mac, jeffree star or limecrime :D) The brush is not much different from the Barry m nail varnish brushes so its a good size. It took 2 coats to get an even finish with this nail varnish to get an opaque look. It looks a little bit different from what it looks like on the Illamasqua website but I still love the way it looks and matches perfectly with the winter weather. I have worn stagnate for just under a week now and its only just started to chip so its a good long lasting nail varnish. The finish is just gorgeous and I was surprised how glossy it looked, the glossiness lasted just as long as the nail varnish and I didn't feel the need to add a top coat to this because it looked good enough without it.

I really love Ilamasqua but I do think this product is a little overpriced seeing as Barry M nail paints are the same quality and cost so much less then this. Saying that I would buy more Illamasqua nail varnishes if they are on sale as the are fabulous.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Swarm

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Swarm
Now I know the name on this sounds a bit scary side as we all know what come in swarms - wasps and bees or even worse flies especially when we are having an ice cream during the summer!! But thankfully I am not talking about wasps or any other flying bugs I am talking about a fabulous nail varnish that I treated myself too on my birthday which happens to be called swarm.

Illamaqua Swarm is a black glitter nail polish in a clear gloss finish, I bought this as I have hardly any glitter or sparkly nail varnishes and you know you can't have to much sprinkles and glitter in your life. I applied this on top of my silver OPI nail varnish which is called 'turn on the haute light' which I got last year in my birchbox. This took only one coat and the glitter applied quite evenly across my nails and each nail looked like different design which I just love. Another thing that makes me super happy about swarm in that the glitter doesn't feel like grit on my nails, my nails are very smooth now with this on my nails.

This nail paint would suit any nail varnish in my opinion, I am very tempted to try it again with gold or red which I will update this post with. Swarm is available online or at illamasqua counters up and down the country.

Barry M Pink Punch

Barry M Pink Punch Review
Hi Lovelies
For me Barry M nail polishes are second to none as the quality of them is just gorgeous and the range to choose from is literally just fabulous but not only them points this brand is cruelty free and offers a lot of vegan products too.

Pink Punch has a brilliant gelly effect formula and is very easy to apply as it has a decent size brush for applying the nail paint. It took me two applications to get 100% coverage but it did look good even with just one, the finish is just as the it says on the bottle, like a gelly effect which is very shiny and I would go as far to say it looks very professional.
The Gelly nail range is very good range of nail paints and very durable and long lasting and last a good 3 days without chipping.

The Barry M Gelly range is around £3.99 and are available online and in shops like boots and superdrug.

Butter London Bramble Nail Lacquer

Butter London Bramble Nail Lacquer
Hi Lovelies
Butter London is a brand I have always wanted to try, the only thing that kind of put me off was its not the easiest brand to find in shops and I found that they products where a tad on the expensive side for a brand that isn't readily available in the shops. For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a few thing in town and found the most gorgeous makeup in TK Max! and that's where I found the butter London makeup and I was super duper happy.

Butter London is cosmetic company that sells a variety of makeup from nail lacquers to lipsticks and they all have very British names which makes the brand that extra bit quirky in my opinion. I found this nail lacquer bramble and lippy in Macbeth in TK Max for both under £10.

Butter London Bramble Nail Lacquer
Butter London Bramble is a opaque nail lacquer in a eggplant shade. The formula contains no toluene, formaldehyde, camphor and DBP. The nail lacquer is a decent size too at 11ml.

I found this nail lacquer so fun, I really love the design and shape of the bottle and the shade Bramble is something I would of chose anyways so I happy to have found it for a bargain price of £4. I needed 2 coats to get a completely opaque finish but it did look nearly just as good with one coat. Application was easy and didn't make any mess around my nails and looked very shiny once dried which did not take long at all, I think it took just over a minute. I have no cons with this nail lacquer thankfully, I just hope I find more of this brand soon.

Barry M Prickly Pear

Barry M Prickly Pear
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Prickly Pear £3.99
Cruelty Free
Vegan
I just love purple and I am tempted to get my hair once again, so when I seen Prickly Pear from Barry M in Superdrug in Silverburn I couldn't resist and buy it as its the most perfect lilac nail polish I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few. The weather at the moment may not be the most summery ever but this nail polish is just right for the spring and summer months.

Barry M Prickly Pear Review
This nail polish from Barry M is called 'Prickly Pear' and its from the gelly hi shine range. I am not sure the name matches the nail polish itself as prickly pears look nothing like this but saying that I do love the name itself as its quite quirky and for me personally nail polish names make a difference sometimes when I buy a new nail polish. Prickly Pear is a light purple shade just like a pastel lilac shade and reminds me a lot of parma violets. The formula is very thick and it took a few minutes for my nails to be dry enough to apply a second coat and then a third as two coats looked a little bit too thin and not opaque enough for me.

Application for this can be a bit on the tricky side as the formulation is very thick and making sure you get the right amount on the brush is very important to make sure you don't put to much on nail as I learned on one of my nails that I did re start it to make it perfect. Once all the coats were on I waited 10 minutes for my nails to dry and after that time they looked amazing! I really love the results of prickly pear as it looks so shiny and glossy for me its just salon quality you can get at home and for a fraction of the price.

What do you think of the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine range?

I am such a hoarder of nail polishes that when I buy them I always end up buying more then one and end up buying at least 3 at a time as they is always offers on and I end up buying more haha. So thankfully nail polishes are easy to store and I can put them easily away to store, my collection keeps growing and I never have a firm favorite shade I just like collecting a vast rainbow of skittles that they all look like a nice bag of star bursts.

Models Own have a huge selection of nail polishes to choose from that its impossible to choose your favorite in a hurry, and at the moment they have a sale on where everything on the site is half price so after this blog post I will probably ending up buying more to add to my collection.

I don't usually buy neon shades but I just fell in love when I seen Models Own - Toxic Apple as the shade of green reminds me of the summer months and its perfect for Halloween or just to stand out too. Toxic Apple took about 4 applications to get this opaque and even then it wasn't perfect unfornatly but I really love the shade so its just a shame it takes so many applications as its formula was quite thin and it was quite tricky to apply too.

Even though this nail polish didn't work out with me I really still love the brand as they are a cruelty free brand and quite a lot of things on their site are vegan too and clearly listed as so too. Apart from this nail polish all other Models Own Nail polishes have been great.

Models Own - Toxic Apple - Ice Neon // £5

V = Vegan
CF - Cruelty Free

Have you tried Models Own Nail polish before?

Simple Candy Cane Nail Tutorial

With Christmas just around the corner and not much time left to do the Christmas shopping I thought of a simple solution for myself and others to have Christmas themed nails in a simple and effective way with nail polishes that I own, all you need is a white, red nail polish and a top coat.

I am no professional when it comes to nail art but I always like to get a nice nail polish on with a simple design. I just love changing my nail shade every few days as I have so many to choose from its great to have a different look every other day, well in my case anyways, I am so used to it now anyways, my husband hasn't seen my plain nails in ages haha.

Step 1 - Apply a thin layer of base coat, I used barry M base coat.
Step 2 - When the top coat has dried apply 2 layers of white nail polish, making sure to wait between each layer so the nail polish has a chance to dry, I used models own snow white.
Step 3 - Once both layers have dried get a red polish and start from the bottom of the nail and drag diagonally up the nail, and do the same again to make another line.
Step 4 - Once every step is complete apply a top coat so that the nails look more glossy and the nail polish lasts that extra bit longer.

What nail polish are you wearing for Christmas?

5 Nail Polishes For The Winter

Following on from yesterdays my top 5 winter lipsticks, I have decided to follow on that post with my top 5 choices for winter nail polishes. I have quite a nice selection of nail polishes and the collection itself has grown a lot as you all might know how.... blogging. Winter is very versatile season were you can get inspiration from abosulty everything such as the dark nights I thought a nice dark nail polish like a matte black would be perfect for that and also like the last leaves that fall reminds me a lot of spices and a burnt orange.

With the winter season being perfect to brighten our look up its nice to have your nails to match your outfit and also to brighten up any mood. The selection I have chosen are perfect for everyday wear and to show off during the festive season.
(from top to bottom)
Illamasqua - Scorn | £14.50
I find that matte black during  the winter as well as all year round in Britain, black just matches everything perfectly from a casual outfit to going out to a party. Scorn is perfect as it is a matte effect nail polish and looks very professional and very easy to apply.

Barry M Gelly Effects - Mustard | £3.99
I have always been a fan of Barry M's Gelly range even though they are a bit of a hit and miss with bloggers. I find these beautifully thick and very easy to apply its very glossy when it had dried. The mustard shade is exactly like mustard and its just perfect for those horrid foggy days or any day you like. I like to wear this while shopping personally.

OPI - Turn On The Hot Light || £11
OPI have to be a salon favorite and are one of my favorite nail polish brands as they have many shades to choose from, the shade I chose in my top 5 nail polishes is virbant silver with a lot of sparkle and is like decorations on a Christmas tree or the stars at night, seeing as we get darker nights now its winter.

Models Own - Red Alert || £4.99
Red is such a statement shade and for me brings out more coconfidence for me which is a big bonus for me as I like to dress in a retro style. Red alert is a perfect shade as it stands out in the crowd and every were you look this season you see the shade red from Christmas decorations to Rudolph red nose.

China Glaze - Traffic Jam || £6.95
Many of us enjoy enjoy mulled wine over the festive period (I personally don't drink) but this shade is very much like a red wine shade and matches it very well so its perfect for festive events and perfect for Christmas day as this colour would match any outfit.

What is your favorite Winter Polish?

Illamasqua Nail Polish in Scorn

illamasqua scorn Illamasqua scorn
Illamasqua scorn
 Hi Lovelies !
I am a bit of a nail polish addict and since becoming a blogger my collection seems to be growing so much every week, that I don't get a chance to use them all. That is what happened to Illamsqua's  Scorn. I know its terrible of me to leave this beauty so long but I have so many others that I think I could give a nail salon a run for their money.

Illamasqua is a premium makeup brand which sells a lot of makeup from vintage shades to very vibrant colours in lipsticks to eye shadows and of course nail polishes. They have a nice selection of nail polishes with really quirky names like Scorn and Rampage. They are pretty pricey compared to a lot of nail polishes on the market as these are £14.50 each. I got mine in the Illamasqua Sale last month in which I got this nail polish for a bargain of £7.50.

Illamasqua Scorn is a very Gothic shade which I love as it is a matte black shade. Scorn is perfect for anyone who likes a daring nail polish shade or this can easily be used for Halloween which is coming up in just under 2 weeks.

Scorn is quite a thick nail polish so I would recommend adding this in sections to get an even finish and applying a matte top coat to finish this look off. This shade needed 2 coats to make it completely opaque and for me to be 100% happy with it. I just love the finished look with this nail polish and it does look really professional, the pictures don't do it as much justice as what the nail polish looks like in person. I have worn this a couple of days now and it still hasn't chipped yet and still looks really fresh and new.

My verdict is that for the price its really good and I would recommend it to anyone who loves black nail polishes and loves the Gothic look too. It may be expensive but it really does the job so in my own opinion its worth it to me.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Chilli

Barry M Chilli cruelty free
barry m chilli
Well we are well into Autumn now as the weather has shown us with all the wind and rain and most of all the cold, but lets not let that get in our way! we are fabulous no matter what the weather is like outside . For a pick me up I decicded to treat myelf with a new nail polish or two so I chose the new collection from Barry M Autumn gelly collection and I just had to pick up Chilli and Mustard, I know they just sound amazing and the names sound fun.

Chilli is like a smokey red very much like chilli powder or dried chillis which I just love as it is so Autumn looking! This polish is quite easy to apply even though it is a bit thicker then most nail polishes on the market. The colour is perfect with only just two coats and I didn't feel the need for a top coat over this as it was shiny and beautiful the way it was so I just let the nails look amazing on their own.

I just love how long this nail polish lasted before it chipped which was 4 days, so this is perfect if you want a long lasting nail polish. You can pick one up in store or online superdrug this is  for a affordable price of £3.99 Here! If you spend £7 or more now in superdrug you also get a free showgirl mascara.

What do you think of Barry M Chilli ?
