Blowdrying Hair with Tangle Teezer

tangle teezer blowdrying hairbrush review
 Hi Flamingos
I am sure quite a lot of us have heard of the original 'Tangle Teezer'. I remember when I went to the hairdressers a couple of years back and my hairdresser brushed my hair and I felt no tugging or anything and thats when she told me all about the original tangle teezer  brush, it was after that I decided to get one for myself and I bought one the next day and I have been using it ever since, its still working well after all that time too which is fab.

This brush is a new brush from 'Tangle Teezer' and its designed to reduce blowdrying time and it also says they are no need for straightening irons. This brush is the full size one and is best suited for people with medium and long hair lengths.

First Impressions
When I first got it, I was very impressed with how well made the brush is. Its packaged very nicely in a transparent through sturdy box with all the information you need about the brush on it.

Its nice big brush which is quite different from other blowdrying brushes as it has a lot of bristles and they are quite hard too. Not only is it a big brush its very lightweight too.

My Thoughts
As with anything new I was a bit dubious about using this for the first time, I know it sounds daft but the shape is a little different from a usual blowdrying brush and I was a bit unsure how to use it at first but with a little looking around on the web I seen how to use it and gave it a whirl.

I used this after having a shower and towel drying my hair beforehand, I put my hair into section and started to brush it with the bristle facing outwards and the hairdryer focusing on my hair. It was pretty easy  to use and I did feel it took a lot less time to use and also a little less aching to my wrist as my hair is very thick and it can take ages to blow-dry my hair.

It took about 10 minutes to blow-dry all of my hair which is just below my shoulder length which I think is quite impressive compared to how I used to do it. It did say no need for hair straighteners after this and I can say it does make a difference and made it easier for me to style my hair as usual after drying my hair.

Getting My Hair Red With Manic Panic Vampire Red

manic panic vampire red
Hi Lovelies
You know something, I have actually lost count on how many times I have dyed my hair over the years it has literally been the colour of the rainbow pretty much. I  can honestly say to you all I really enjoy having bright hair and it has to be the biggest reason I wanted to dye it again. My all time favourite hair colour is red and the reason for that is a mixture of a few things and il tell you all what those reasons are; first being I love the way it looks especially with the way I put my makeup on. Secondly red is my favourite colour, I know that may sound like a silly reason but I just love it.

Anyway I did my research well before I took the plunge to dye my hair red. I looked online for ages choosing the right brand and the right red for my hair. I also looked at  the best way to look after red hair because red hair is one of the most difficult hair colours to look after. I also got everything prepared such as the dye, old towel vaseline and so on.

Preparation

  • Manic Panic Vampire Red x1 ( 2 if you have very long hair)
  • Old Towel
  • Vaseline
  • Plastic Gloves
  • Tinting Bowl and gloves
As you can see in my before picture my hair isn't bleached to a light blonde like the manic panic tub suggests. I didn't mind because usually red hair dyes have worked well before in the past on my dark blonde hair, so I wasn't worried that it wouldn't work. The tub suggests washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo before dying your hair to make sure your hair is clean before putting this hair dye on so I did that beforehand.

Before

*As with any hair dye, do a skin patch test*

My partner applied this hair dye on my hair and I would personally suggest to anyone wanting to dye their hair at home to get someone to help them with it because it can be awkward doing it on yourself unless you know what you are doing. My partner applied it to all of my hair evenly with a tinting brush and bowl, they is still about a quarter of a tub left after applying to my hair. Once it was all in my hair I used a big toothed comb to distrubrute the hair dye evenly through all of my hair from my roots to the tips of my hair.

I kept it in my hair for about 45 minutes even though it suggested only 30, the reason I kept it in my hair for longer is because my hair can be a bit resilient sometimes. The hair dye wasn't runny and not much went on the towel. Once it came to washing it out I washed it out  with cool water, the reason for that is that it helps to lock in more of the colour in the hair. Honestly the amount of red that came out in the shower was shocking but to be fair that was to be expected.

I styled my hair as usual once I got all the hair dye out of my hair. I was so happy with the result that I nearly got a tear in my eye because I just loved the way it looked. I style my hair oil, heat proaction spray followed by blow drying and straightening my hair.

My overall Thoughts
I'm involve with it! I am so happy with the results, I am very shocked it worked so well on unbleached or light blonde hair. Manic Panic is a brand I will be buying of in the future because its a very good quality hair dye. I'm hoping it washes well and I will be using products to make sure my hair stays as bright red as possible.

Another thing I love about Manic panic vampire red is that it has no scent and after washing my hair it was very easy to style my hair. My hair was actually noticeably softer too.

Things I love about Manic Panic
  • Lots of hair colours to choose from
  • The hair dyes are semi permanent
  • Vegan and Cruelty Free
  • They make other things like shampoos and conditioners
  • I love the motto 'live fast dye your hair'

October Beauty Favourites

October beauty favourites
Hi Lovelies
Its that time of the month again when I show you all my monthly beauty favourites! This month I have made another youtube video to go along with it yet again 'WOOHOO" . October started out really warm and by the end of the month it went really cold. I am sure autumn lasts a day or two and winter on the other hand lasts like the rest of the year.

I honestly normally struggle on what to say is my monthly beauty favourites because I usually use a vast range of products I actually like so it can take me a while to actually decide which ones I like. Out of all the months this year this one had to be the easiest out of all the months to actually choose what I actually loved in October, I tended to use these products the most this month.

October Favourites
  • Urban Decay Naked Foundation : I am so forgetful, I actually had this as a beauty favourite in September too. O well, it just goes to show how much I actually love this foundation. I just love how weightless this is on the skin and it also applies like a dream too. Combined with the urban decay all nighter spray it lasts all day.
  • Nyx Cosmetics Tame & Frame Pomade: I have to say I am no expert when trying to get a decent arch in my brows but this pomade makes it so much easier and to get a shape that I actually liked and matches my style.
  • Lush Bubble Gum Lip scrub: Every time before I put a lipstick on I always apply a lip balm or scrub before hand because it leaves lips feeling softer and lipstick applies so much better that way.
  • Soap and Glory Heal Genius: This honestly smells lovely, like orange and lemons. I use this everyday (whenever I remember) and my feet are a lot smoother then they used to be.
  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Cleanser: Honestly before this I had never used a cleanser before so trying this was different. It feels very refreshing on the skin with a gorgeous tea tree scent. It comes out like a foam and honestly a little bit goes a long way.

Superdrug Hair Therapy Oil with Macadamia Review

superdrug hair oil vegan
Hi Lovelies
If you have been following my blog over the past few months you may of noticed I took the plunge to dye my hair back to my original hair colour blonde. I must say  it was a mighty big job for the hairdressers and suprisingly after one trip to the hairdressers my hair is almost completely blonde now but I have paid the price from dying my hair from midnight blue to blonde highlights. My hair now needs a lot more care and attention and my hairdresser recommend to me to use a good deep conditioner and a hair oil to help keep the hair soft and not to dry out too much seeing as its been through a lot.

Over the years I have tried many hair oils including Aveda, john frieda and TIGI. Most I have used before haven't made much of a difference apart from the Aveda one but for me its a little bit on the expensive side so I went out of my way to find something similar that was also budget friendly and thats when I found this macadamia oil in super drug. It was a decent price and I couldn't wait to give it a whirl on my hair.

Superdrug Hair Therapy Oil with Macadamia  - £3.99
Available online and in store
Suitable for dry/damaged hair
Cruelty Free
Vegan/Vegetarian

What superdrug says
They say this oil has been specially made for people with dry hair and the features of this are that its supposed to help improve and repair hair with benefits of naturally leaving hair strengthen and repaired.

First Impressions
This was in the hair care section in superdrug, next to lots of other hair care products. It didn't stick out to me at first but it was one of the only cruelty free choices and also an affordable choice which is always a winning choice for me.

The bottle is nice and simple with a typical pump on top which is good. The design is simple enough with all the information on the product you need to know.

My Thoughts
My haircare routine consists of me using a blonde hair shampoo and conditioner, then towel drying it before putting on a heat protection spray then I style as usual which it usually just blow drying my hair then straightening my hair,  after that I use a hair oil and obviously this time I used this oil. This oil has a nice pleasant smell which actually reminded me of the aveda hair oil. I used about 3-4 pumps on my hair and it soaked into my hair very quickly without leaving it greasy or any left over on my hands.

I wouldn't go as far to say its the best hair oil in the world but it does the trick keeping my hair tamed and softer for longer. I applied this twice a day because I think it works better that way maintaining my hair. I would buy it again because it works really well for my hair especially with the fact my hair has been dyed many times.

Pros

  • Budget friendly
  • Can be used on wet or dry hair
  • Can be used anytime when needed
  • Has a  pleasant macadamia smell
  • Helps dry and damaged hair
  • Cruelty free
  • Vegan/Vegetarian
Cons
  • None, just wish the was a bigger bottle because my partner loves it too.
